Provides guidance in the development of cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs. Provides guidance in the development of electrical product detail, assembly and installation designs. Provides direction used by multiple teams to analyze complex results and performs design reviews. Provides guidance in engineering design disposition on discrepancies. Defines processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities. Provides direction used by multiple teams to develop complex statements of work, metrics, schedules and budgets. Directs the technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection. Directs the development of functional and physical design requirements to ensure complete integrated design architecture. Works under consultative direction.

Level 4 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Level 5 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's 14 or more years' experience, Master's with 12 or more years' experience or PhD with 9 or more years' experience. As H47 Program Electrical Equipment IPT Design and Installation Checker under the general supervision of a Lead, you will be responsible for reviewing and checking a variety of 2D and 3D MBD & AMBD Designs for DOD & Helicopter Aircraft while striving for first time quality. Designs being reviewed / checked will include Electro Mechanical Panel Assemblies, Electrical Enclosures, Radio Racks, Consoles, Power Distribution Panels, Antenna installations, Machined Parts, Sheet Metal Parts, Envelope / Source control parts, and installations. Review for complete definition, geometric dimensioning and tolerance, and adherence to design and drafting best practices and procedures. The individual will be expected to verify and ensure contract and department statement of work requirements are being met, along with ensuring design tolerance stack ups and fit up to adjacent components as well as review of drawing notes, format, specs and design requirements and related documents for soundness, efficiency, and simplicity in design; completeness, clarity, dimensional accuracy; correctness of materials and processes; conformity to design/drafting standards, design specifications, and practicability; and economy of fabrication, assembly, and installation. In addition you will be responsible for participating and leading multi discipline air vehicle 3D VR Virtual reality review meetings. Design Checker will also be responsible for monitoring and meeting all scheduled engineering release dates while providing written and verbal feedback mentoring designers in a timely manner to ensure program commitments are met. Established design check lists and metrics will be used and maintained as record. Prior experience with Boeing Design Spec and Standards preferred. 10 plus years of electro mechanical design and design checking experience. Training and experience in MIL-STD-100, ASME Y14.5M, DOD-D-1000, tolerance stack-up and evaluation of form, fit and function. SAE-5088 / SAE-AS50881 Wiring. Ability to quickly adapt to Boeing Design Standards, Processes and Specs. Experienced in computer aided design tools CATIA V5. Functional Tolerance and Annotation Experienced using Team Center Engineering - Product Data Management preferred.
