Wire Design & Installation Engineer 1
Develops and maintains basic cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs. Assists with engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests). Develops and maintains basic electrical product detail, assembly and installation designs (e.g., equipment racks, power panels, cable routing and geometry, antennas).Follows documented processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities. Collects data to support the development of statements of work. Assists in data gathering of supplier capabilities. Reviews functional and physical input used in the development of integrated design and system architecture. Works under close supervision.

• Computer Aided Design Tools
Basic knowledge of computer aided design tools and systems (e.g., computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM), computer aided three dimensional interactive (CATIA), Mentor Graphics, Unigraphics). Able to manipulate data sets, (e.g., compare CATIA to measurement data, create stereo lithography files).

Basic knowledge of Boeing design, production, and build processes (e.g., maintenance access solid, dependability cost model, produceability trade offs) to effectively influence product design.
• Drawings/Data Sys and Models
Basic knowledge of drawings, data systems and models associated with supported systems/platforms.

Typical Education/Experience
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Other Job related information
Some previous experience is desired in the area of Wire Design on Boeing 7-Series aircraft. Some experience/training on the design tools such at CADDS, WIRS and PDM would also be beneficial.
