Contract opportunity with a leading manufacturer in Tucson, Arizona.

The planning and design of mechanical equipment; and the oversight of the installation, operation and maintenance of the equipment

Job description:

Day to day use of Unigraphics NX 5 integrated with Teamcenter 8 for the creation of Engineering Data Packages.

Daily application of ASME 2D Drafting Best Practices and understanding of 3rd Angle Projections.

Use of existing 3D models and BOMs (Bill of Material) for the generation of new drawings to clearly communicate 100% part definition using industry standards.

Clear understanding of basic GD&T, how to identify Datum Priority and apply basic tolerances using the ASME Y14.5 2009 Standard.

Investigation of parent (Next Higher) assemblies and determination of optimum datum & tolerance priorities.

The reporting of progress status via email communication and use of network managed Microsoft Excel Forms.

Parametric modeling and design experience in Unigraphics will be preferred.

Experience with FEA, DFM/A and related analysis and problem solving tools will be preferred.

Relevant competencies will include structures, complex surfaces, latching and kinematic movement mechanisms and cabinetry. Materials experiences should include sheet metal, machined components, composites, plastics, and wiring systems.

Specific responsibilities will include: design of mechanical components and assemblies with an emphasis on manufacturability, reliability, and maintainability. The candidate must be comfortable in a multitasking environment and be able to deal with often conflicting priorities.

Proficient in NX5 or above


Education

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Engineering or Computer Science from a four-year college or university and a minimum of three year(s) related experience and/or training.
