We are seeking a 2nd shift Turbo Lab Supervisor tolead turbo test technicians in their duties, assure that departmental actions (i.e. hires, promotions, transfers, discipline and terminations) are accomplished in a consistent, fair and non-discriminatory manner in accordance with Company policy and is a resource for technical issues relating to Gas Stands and Engine Cells. The Supervisor will research and develop new capabilities in the Technology Center to keep our testing ability abreast of our customer requirements and state of the art capability. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Promotes order, cleanliness, safety, positive work habits and a positive attitude in the Laboratory. * Promotes 5S and continuous improvement activities to include project leadership and ownership. * Provides maintenance and calibration of Gas Stands, Engine Dynamometers, and related equipment as required. * Develops and maintains accurate and reliable levelsofdata and test communications. * Develops procedures and works instructions for the quality manual. * Recommends and implements overtime. * Develops and administers technician training at all organization levels. * Operates Gas Stands and Dynamometers as required. * Conducts reviews and salary administration. * Assists in hiring of technicians. * Assists in Lab metrics reporting and accuracy, implements effective corrective actions. * Orders Lab supplies as needed. * Interfaces with facilities support as required. * Understands and adheres to current quality and control policies. * Understands and adheres to current health, safety, and environmental policies. * Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE * This position requires an Associate degree in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent time in the industry. A Bachelor degree in a related field is preferred. Willing to consider in lieu of degree: Equivalent mechanical powertrain experience in the automotive industry (in-depth engine work including tear down, reassembly, measurement, and dynamometer testing) if coupled with a minimum of 2 years of relevant R&D or technical lab testing experience. * Requires at least one year of experience directly supervising or managing employees. * Experience in a professional automotive components test environment (powertrain systems, lab or R&D) is desired. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude is a must, combined with ability and willingness to complete both on the job and other formal training as required. Must be proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical and engineering drawings. * Proficient in use of indicators, micrometers and dial calipers and other related equipment. * Ability to carry out multiple tasks simultaneously. *
Computer proficiency required (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and the ability to use lab related software. *
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
