Transportation Coordinator Country Kuwait Work Location Kuwait Job Description POSITION SUMMARY: The Transportation Coordinator must be capable of monitoring, but not limited to, the following movement control functions: Customer Service; Convoy Briefings; Staging Area Management; Hazardous Materiel (HAZMAT) Documentation Certification; Movement Control Reports; RFID Management; Document Cargo; Container Management: and Safety Briefings. Employee must be assigned to the Movement Control Center (MCC) on Camp Arifjan. Transportation Coordinator must also be Hazardous Materiel (HAZMAT) certified and have the ability to use and train co-workers on the Battle Command Sustainment Support System (BCS3), Blue Force Tracker (BFT), Global Decision Support System (GDSS), Global Transportation Network (GTN), Integrated Booking System ' Container Management Module (IBS-CMM), Joint Operations Planning and Execution System (JOPES), Single Mobility System (SMS), Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags, and Transportation Coordinators' Automated Information for Movement System II (TC-AIMS II).
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES: 1. Monitors all transportation moves. 2. Assists in sourcing out new modes of transportation and carriers. 3. Analyzes cost of freight performance for carriers. 4. Responsible for monitoring scheduled movements. 5. Ensures security has been coordinated; link up teams and Movement Control Teams (MCTs) for required moves. 6. Inputs convoy movement data into ledger, close convoy entries, and track convoys on Movement Tracking System (MTS) and BCS3. 7. Retrieves all convoy reports from the MCTs via SIPR and NIPR computers. 8. Contacts MCTs when reports are not received by required times. 9. Assists in creating circulation overlays. 10. Coordinates and monitor movement schedules and programs; issue convoy clearances. 11. Maintains historical data on all movements. 12. Posses the ability to perform movement control operations. 13. Performs other duties and assignments as required.
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED: List the material and/or equipment necessary to successfully complete the job. Such as computer, tools, phone, vehicle, etc. Transportation Coordinator must be certified and/or licensed to operate Forklifts (10k and below).
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: Physical requirements include lifting, climbing, extended sitting or standing, or other physical efforts that are normally required. In addition, visual acuity, hearing and speaking requirements would be considered. Transportation Coordinator must be able to lift/push/pull up to 70 lbs. Required Experience: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certifications: Two years related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
High school diploma or equivalent work experience in related field.
Experience: At least three years of related work experience. Must be HAZMAT trained and/or certified and know how to process TMRs, and TCMDs.
Skills: Excellent computer, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills required. Computer skills include a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and the IBS-CMM. Requires excellent organizational skills; with the ability to work under fast paced and adverse conditions.
