YOU MUST SUBMIT A SIGNED STATE OF TEXAS APPLICATION TO DPS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION Seeking an experienced trainer to plan, organize and direct a wide range of training activities to develop performance improvement measures, conduct orientation sessions, and arrange on-the-job training for new employees. Ideal candidate must have 3-5 years of training, technical writing and course content development experience in a fast paced work environment. This position requires an individual to create internal and external training programs to ensure employees are competent and customers are fully educated. Proven experience in using creative approaches facilitates active learning and explains concepts simply. This position requires evaluation of training effectiveness to ensure that employees actually learn and that the training they receive helps the organization meet its strategic goals and achieve results. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with emphasis in physics, mechanical or automotive engineering, business or public administration or a related discipline plus the equivalent of two (2) years or more of full-time work experience in repairing, designing, or experimenting with efficiency or emissions of gasoline internal combustion engines. Experience and education may be substituted for one another on a year-for year basis (thirty 30 semester hours credit equates to one 1 year of work experience). LICENSING OR CERTIFICATION: *Must possess or obtain valid National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications: A-1 Engine Repair, A-6 Electrical/Electronic Systems, A-8 Engine Performance, and If valid certificates are not currently possessed, they must be obtained within one (1) year from the date of employment. Further screening based on objective, job-related factors will be conducted on all applicants meeting the minimum requirements for this posting. OTHER: Felony conviction will be cause for rejection.
