Tool Engineer
Our client, a leading supplier of RV OEM components, is seeking an experienced tool engineer to support new product design; prototyping and production. In this role you will design jigs, dies and fixtures for production and experimental use, improving manufacturing methods and initiating design changes for cost effectiveness.
Coordinates and directs tool/gauge design and build for prototypes, production programs, and engineering changes. Monitors tooling budgets and progress and quality of tool build.
Resolve design problems related to material characteristics, dimensional tolerances, service requirements, manufacturing procedures and costs of tools.
Establishes procedures for initial set-up, maintenance and safe operation of new production tooling.
Support of existing production tooling for upgrading or repair
Lead projects to improve productivity through changes in manufacturing methods and equipment
Assists in the establishing and updating of process FMEA’s, control plans, job instructions, product specifications and all other information required by company’s quality system.
