Title:Tier II Helpdesk/ RF/ Network Administrator
 
Position Description:
 
ThisTier II Helpdesk position will focus primarily on systems type issues andwill work in a team of highly skilled IT professionals and provide day to day support to customers in an efficiently structured, fast paced environment. The technician responds to incoming trouble calls in a queue or ticketing system and troubleshoot customers problems using existing tools and resolve or escalate appropriately in a consistently accurate, efficient, professional, and friendly manner. Technician will manage workflow and user communication for assigned tickets based on current process throughout duration of ticket lifecycle with general supervision by senior system engineers and department head. Expected services will be mostly in the area of desktop, server andnetworktroubleshooting but can also range from troubleshooting manual and auto-point SCPC / TDMA VSATs. This position will also provide basic information systems management and technical services for multiple contract customers. Although services provided for each customer will vary, below outlines some of the anticipated responsibilities. Depending on the nature of the customer and the project, position may be working independently or as member of an engineering team and support staff. Reviews and interprets various data in defining IT related problems and assists in developing system requirements and program specifications from which programmers prepare systems documentation and tests.
 
Basic Qualifications: 
·        5 years experience and demonstrated knowledge of satellite network design concepts,VSATand IP Gateway (Cisco) technologies
·        2 years experience in programming and operating iDirect TDM/TDMAVSATsystems
·        2 years experience in programming and operating Comtech Modems
·        Experience in general satellite Network Operations and Field Services requirements
·        Minimum 2 years experience working with any combination of Cisco routers & switches.
·        Understand the unique operational and technical complexities of Land MobileVSATsystems Willing to work after hours during emergency call-in
* Must be willing to work a rotating NOC shift schedule
·         Must be able to work as part of a team
·        Working knowledge of computer installation, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of personal computers, printers, and scanners; knowledge of communications troubleshooting techniques through phone consultations and one-on-one interviews
·        Ability to work with minimal supervision.
·        Applicant must be willing to travel to hazardous duty areas to include South West Asia (SWA) if required- expected travel less than 5%
·        Applicant must be a US citizen. 
·        Must also possess an active SECRET clearance, meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and will be subject to a government security investigation.
 
Preferred Experience/Certifications:
 ·        Security+, MCSA, MCSE, CCENT, CCNA
 
Minimum Education/Experience:
 
·        Associate Degree
·        Two years experience is equivalent to 1 year of education (i.e., 8 years experience is equivalent to a Bachelor's degree). Using experience to meet the minimum educational requirements does not degrade a candidate's total number of years of experience.
·        Travel to hazardous duty areas to include South West Asia (SWA) is a possible requirement - anticipated travel would be less than 5%
·        Applicant must be a US citizen. 
·        Must also possess an active SECRET clearance, meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and will be subject to a government security investigation.
·        Employment will be contingent upon favorable results of a company background investigation and drug screening.
·        Must meet IAT Level II certification standards as per the DoD 8570.01-M -Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program (IAWIP), within 6 months of hire. These requirements include the following commercial certifications: Sec+, MCP workstation (XP or VISTA), MCP Server (03 or 08) & Cisco CCENT (at minimum).
