Thermal Analysis Engineer 4\5
Supports the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment for NASA's Space Launch System (SLS) Core Stage elements at the program level. Supports the development, maintenance or modification of system designs/proposals to provide design documentation and high-level requirements to downstream users/customers. Develops the system design and modification of mechanical and fluid system installations. Selects modeling technique and analysis methods to define thermal environments, and associated compliance of flight hardware per customer requirements. Oversees preparation of technical documents for thermal and environmental control requirements, validation and verification. Works as a mentor for experienced thermal and environmental control engineers and as a team lead. Also will interact with other engineering disciplines in a collaborative design environment. Some travel may be needed. Works under less supervision. Must be a US citizen to gain permanent access to Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC).

Typical Education/Experience
Level 4 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Level 5 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's 14 or more years' experience, Master's with 12 or more years' experience or PhD with 9 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Other Job related information
Mechanical or aerospace engineering degree preferred. Must be a US citizen and able to gain permanent access to Marshall Space Flight Center.
