Job Description:

As a product safety test technician, you'll assist with the testing of products to ensure that the technology used complies with regulations and safety standards. You'll test for mechanical, electrical, and environmental effectiveness of safeguards, identifying exposed mechanisms that might cause a potential safety hazards. You'll work closely with product safety engineers and other safety specialists. You'll help to maintain a safe work environment by following and documenting federal and company safety regulations.

Responsibilities include:

• Setting up, operating, and maintaining the test equipment used in product safety tests lab
• Analyzing data from tests, review data with the engineering team, and preparing reports from the data
• Helping to identify and evaluate a potential safety hazards or damage which could result from it
• Documenting all test results, recommendations, and safety procedures
• Assisting with safety investigations throughout the Incident Review Process
• Thermocouple maintenance and assembly

• Good math skills
• Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
• Mechanical aptitude and good hand-eye coordination
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self motivated individual and able to work with limited direct supervision
• Knowledge of basic electronics (Ohm’s Law, AC/DC Voltage experience, etc.)
• Ability to operate the Test Equipment Operation (Scope, Multi-meter, data acquisition, etc.)
• Good Soldering capabilities
• Familiarity with IEC/UL 60950 standards, Safety Testing and Safety Agencies Processes
• Good knowledge of MS Office Programs Word and Excel and associated MS Tools
• Test experience in performing the following (list is not exhaustive):

-Input

-Leakage Current

-Temperature

-Dielectric Strength

-Bonding Continuity

-Abnormal Operations

-Flammability
