Test Engineer

Provide technical coordination between JM Testing and testing customer.  Assist JMT customers in the planning and execution of application test programs and in the analysis and interpretation of test results.

• Assist in the development and planning of appropriate JMT customer test programs.  Provide input when appropriate, into the design of customer test programs to ensure the generation of accurate and timely data.
• Maintain daily contact with the testing customer.  Provide testing status, scheduling information, and technical results to the JMT customers.
• Provide analysis and interpretation of technical data and test results.  Ensure accurate and timely communication of data between JMT and customer.
• Provide technical support to customer engineers to help in the analysis of testing problems and assist in the diagnosis and solution of these problems.
• Provide assistance in maintaining and upgrading the JMT test facility, both in equipment and personnel.  Help to establish this area as a quality, “state of the art” test facility.
• Provide technical assistance and direction in the design, fabrication, and use of mechanical hardware such as fixtures, converters, injection systems, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Some after hours on-call test cell support is required.
• Keep current with advances in engine hardware and control strategy.  Communicate changes to appropriate JM personnel and/or customer along with an assessment of the impact and probable effect on testing processes and results.
• Keep current with emissions testing procedures and equipment as required to meet government regulations.  Become familiar and keep up to date with relevant sections of the CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) as they pertain to emissions testing.
• Assist in preparation and updating of ISO documentation.

• Minimum B.S. Mechanical Engineering (preferred) or B.S. Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 - 5 years Engineering work experience
• Must have excellent written and oral communications and interpersonal skills.
• Must have excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Experience or knowledge in the area of test cell operation, including knowledge of exhaust analysis equipment is extremely desirable but not strictly required.
• Experience or knowledge in the areas of diesel engine technology, OE engine control software, exhaust emission chemistry, or combustion analyssis is desirable, but not strictly required.
