GENERAL SUMMARY: Designs, develops and administers complex Wiki-based systems and designs, writes, creates, maintains, and updates other online technical documentation.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Interface with and interview, users, developers, stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and conduct research necessary to produce accurate, comprehensive documents 2. Elicit capabilities of current systems and tools 3. Elicit requirements of new projects from users, developers, clients and other stakeholders 4. Consolidate and document (write) various documents to include: a) Wiki-based, step-by-step articles for online help, user guides, training manuals, and other documents including examples, screenshots and tips b) Wiki-based articles for developer instructions using code snippets, examples, screenshots and tips c) Spreadsheets for consolidating publishing systems requirements including user stories, ContentTypes matrices and other functional requirements d) Long-form documents (i.e., Microsoft Word format) for detailed technical specifications including technical diagrams e) Presentation of documents to stakeholders and clients to clearly articulate the justification for each requirement captured
Bachelors Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
2-5 years of directly related computer systems analysis and/or programming experience.
EXPERIENCE:
a) 2 years of related experience b) Experience developing programmer documentation and end user documentation. c) Use of Sphinx and other documentation tools a plus. d) Working knowledge of Object Oriented Development and Design, Algorithms, Design Patterns e) Working knowledge of Java Technologies: Core Java, Annotations, J2EE, JSF, JMS, JBoss Seam (or other similar Application Server/ IoC container), Eclipse, Maven, Ant f) Working knowledge of Java libraries: Hibernate, Spring Framework, JUnit g) Working knowledge of Web Development: JavaScript, DHTML, XML h) Good working knowledge of Agile Development principals and practice i) Good working knowledge of Unix/Linux and Windows environments j) Good communication skills (Writing and oral), good team player k) Strong analytical ability
