Summer Intern Program:
The Ball Aerospace Internship Program is a ten week summer program that provides candidates with:

There are many recreational opportunities along the Colorado Front Range. Our state is famous for its skiing, hiking, biking, mountain climbing and beautiful scenery. We are also just 30 minutes fromDenver, with access to all of the amenities that the mile high city has to offer.
Over the course of a summer session, students are encouraged to participate in social and recreational activities, many of which are organized by the college relations department. Mentors and department co-workers enjoy spending time with students at many of the activities.
What You´ll Do as an Intern: * Participate in manufacturing projects including work cell design, layout, optimization and resource utilization for high mix / low volume builds * Participate in Lean manufacturing projects in support of continuous improvement initiatives. * Develop and / or refine modeling tools for projecting manufacturing resource needs * All work will be performed under the supervision of senior engineers and Lean / 6-sigma consultants. * Conclusion of internship requires the preparation and formal presentation ofproject work to the Manufacturing Engineering department.
What You´ll Need:
* Effective communicationskills; comfortable working in a team environment; high energy and desire to learn. * Completion ofJunior year toward a Bachelor's degree program in Manufacturing Engineering,Industrial Engineering or related field. * Enrollment in a degree program for the Fall 2011 semester Desired Skills: * Coursework in work cell design and modeling * Familiarization with Lean Manufacturing concepts and tools. * Coursework and lab experience with basic manufacturing processes * Strong competency in MS Excel and basic CAD experience (such as AutoCAD) NOTE: You are welcome to apply for more than one type of internship (for example, Software Engineering and Electrical Engineering), however, we recommend only applying to one of these levels when submitting your resume:
