Then read on. The Packaging Technology division in the U.S. provides first-class technology, high-value services and impressive quality. With four locations in the U.S., the Packaging Technology Division specializes in addressing the processing and packaging applications in the food, confectionery and pharmaceutical industries. Job Description : This position is responsible for: technical purchasing and supplier sourcing activities during new project, part and assembly developments, utilizing engineering background to assist in the specification of 3rd party equipment (e.g. conveyors, scales), quality, delivery and cost of equipment subsequently ordered when a project is awarded, ensuring that all parts meet Bosch's ""Best Quality, Best Price and Best Logistics"" guidelines by maintaining a balance between the technical and economical aspects. Duties may include: identifying and sourcing suppliers, requesting and investigating proposals; working with engineering to develop technical bid specifications as well as perform technical reviews engineering for vendor proposals; assuming overall responsibility for supplier relationships and management within the assigned commodity; responsibility for providing technical support and coordination for new and existing supplier development, supplier quality improvement and supplier consolidation in conjunction with commercial purchasing individual; evaluating and formulating recommendations to management and engineering for the sourcing of assigned components/assemblies/machines by reviewing materials, specifications, cost, manufacturing process capabilities, track time and quality; prepare quotations for responsible commodities; monitoring supplier performance. Job Requirements : Minimum job requirements include: a minimum of five years experience in the field, a Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical/commercial field, basic knowledge in business administration, purchasing, cost calculation, product development problem solving and quality assurance; experience in an engineer-to-order or capital equipment industry as an application, project or cost engineer; demonstrated understanding of manufacturing and engineering principles, disciplines and techniques; ability to read and comprehend technical/engineering drawings; excellent oral and written communication and project management skills; computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
