Supervision Given Supervises the work of contractors, temporary staff and maintenance personnel as needed to lead generating station projects to completion. Position Summary/Accountabilities Provides support and technical oversight for generating station maintenance efforts. Assists with development and implementation of predictive and reliability centered maintenance priorities and philosophies. Performs analysis to ensure optimal operating efficiency of generating station equipment. Assists in developing and implementing training programs across the generating station maintenance disciplines (electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, etc.). Accepts ownership and accountability for the continuous improvement of generating station equipment reliability. Job Functions Plans generating station maintenance after determining priorities and work scope. Prepares cost estimates for equipment repair or system improvements. Identifies and implements generating station maintenance and reliability improvement programs. Ensures that prompt attention is given to all inquiries and complaints from customers regarding plant equipment maintenance. Involved in making recommendations for improvements in generating station equipment and system design modifications for future project implementation. Performs analysis to ensure optimal operating efficiency of generating station equipment. Plans, develops, implements and maintains assigned areas within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (Maximo). Enters data and closes work orders to maintain an accurate maintenance work backlog database. Ensures that supporting documentation is complete and accurate, and that the generating station equipment database structure is up to date. Responsible for assisting Maintenance Managers with developing, implementing, and justifying an overall maintenance vision and plan for one or more generating station locations. This includes developing plans for inspection of equipment, establishing a predictive maintenance program, and scheduling the performance of preventive and corrective maintenance activities. Works closely with generating station maintenance personnel to effectively implement a business plan that meets customer needs and consults with various key stakeholders to identify maintenance process improvement opportunities to optimize planning and scheduling effectiveness. Prepares reports and summaries as needed to facilitate communication. Responsible for assisting with the development of a reliability-centered maintenance program. Provides technical and logistical support to the generating station maintenance organization. Provides input to the development of generating station maintenance personnel. Ensures the data integration of maintenance and reliability systems as applicable within the Computerized Maintenance Management System. Accepts ownership and accountability for the performance measurements and standards of generating station maintenance processes. Provides input to the station budget process for generating station maintenance, including reliability, predictive, and preventive initiatives. Demonstrates leadership in the area of safety. This requires observing and enforcing safety rules and practices, encouraging safe work behaviors, and promptly correcting conditions and unsafe behaviors that may lead to accidents. Ensures the effective integration of generating station operations and maintenance processes to optimize utilization of assets. Physical & Environmental Requirements Physical requirements include sitting for great lengths of time, hearing and seeing, finger dexterity, ability to move around generating station equipment and driving a vehicle. Environmental requirements include working inside and outside. Exposure to dirt, grease, dust and noise. Exposure to normal workplace hazards where normal safety precautions are required. Technical/Job Skill Qualifications The candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications, and have demonstrated the following technical or job skills: -Education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college with a degree in engineering (preferably mechanical) -Ability to communicate with others effectively -Ability and desire to acquire thorough knowledge of generating station equipment and maintenance work methods -Ability and desire to acquire thorough knowledge of safety rules and applicable codes. -Ability to read and understand drawings and technical manuals. -Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. -Must possess a valid driver's license. -Ability to work effectively in a diverse work environment. -Effective technical skills applied to generating station equipment. -Ability and desire to acquire skills in root cause failure analysis, benchmarking, and analytical methods.
