The Systems Engineering Manager will lead a team within the Enterprise Architecture and Portfolio Solutions Mission Area. This mission area is a matrix organization within Mission Analysis and Innovation (MA&I) supporting several systems integration projects and programs. This is a functional management role with the expectation that the candidate holds a major Enterprise Architecture individual contributor role. The applicant will manage a team of approximately 12-15 senior and junior architects, primarily supporting multiple EI Group divisions. Manager will be responsible for strategically developing and growing the architecture engineering skill set in the Washington Metro Area.

Enterprise Architecture involves translating customer goals and mission needs into value models, architectural structures, Concepts of Operations, and development requirements. The candidate will be able to construct architectures using DoDAF, FEAF, or other frameworks, model architectural behavior and performance, and develop requirements.

Must be knowledgeable in the development and use of System-of-System/Family-of-Systems architecture and the related architecture frameworks and the use of these views to interpret system designs and collaborate/lead other team members. The manager will be expected to participate in and coordinate activities across programs and projects, as well as represent the capabilities for the Enterprise Integration Group. These efforts require significant customer and stakeholder interaction, consensus building, and associated presentation and interpersonal skills.

The candidate will lead planning efforts, lead execution teams, organize results, and present conclusions to customer and internal organizations. Candidate must be capable of leading the multi-disciplinary teams at multiple levels and/or documenting and adapting an existing architecture/infrastructure to meet the customer's changing mission goals. Candidate will be expected to take the initiative with addressing emergent needs by determining the appropriate course of action, gaining approval from stakeholders, and leading the effort to execute as appropriate.

Development and/or test experience in aerospace, Intel, or DoD platform and system environment (H/D or S/W) desired.

The successful candidate should have demonstrated the ability to manage and provide direction for a geographically dispersed set of employees. The candidate will also be expected to support new business initiatives for the EI Group such as IR&Ds, customer presentations and demonstrations. The position will require some travel within WMA and occasional travel outside of the WMA.

Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
