Standard Job Description:
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Specific Job Description:
Position is an individual contributor role for remote site Systems Engineering support to a Government Chief Systems Engineer in accordance with the Enterprise Systems Engineering and Architecture (ESEA) contract. This position is located in the United Kingdom and requires security clearance processing to be fully completed prior to the selected candidate's sponsored relocation. The selected candidate will assume the responsibilities as a Power, Space, and Cooling (PS&C) Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting a highly-matrixed Government and Contractor team with multiple engineering cultures and processes. The selected candidate will be responsible for the enhancement and maintenance of several PS&C Models used for tactical and strategic planning of site resources as the customer's mission continues to evolve and grow. The Principal Engineer (PE) will be required to provide status and progress reports to the Site Leadership as required. As a senior level Systems Engineer, the PE will be expected to train and mentor other engineers and customers in "the SI" methodology and processes and also support site-specific process improvement and training activities, and encourage the adoption of sound SE principles and practices. The PE will be expected to utilize "reach-back" capabilities to other SI operating elements when needed and develop growth and extension of tasks as new opportunities surface in support of the Government.
Position Requirements

Bachelors degree in an engineering/technical discipline from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 20 years or more of professional experience; or 18 years with a related Masters, or 15 years with a related PhD degree. Viewed as the most senior authority in discipline.

Required Skills:
Ability to provide technical leadership to the local Data Center Facilities team with a broad set of responsibilities and to manage tactical and strategic activities with focus on continuous improvement
Subject Matter Expert (SME) level understanding of British, American, and customer-tailored Data Center standards and requirements
Extensive knowledge of data center critical systems, including: diesel generators, UPS systems, fuel systems, switchgear, power distribution equipment, chillers, computer room air handlers and building monitoring systems
Excellent communications skills at all management levels (both written and verbal)
Ability to work in a highly matrixed, large organization
Extensive experience in Modeling, Simulation and Analysis
Experience with Data Center consolidation/migration/transition projects
Ability to develop metrics and reporting to demonstrate the efficient (or inefficient) use of Power, Space, and Cooling in Data Center environments
Ability to coordinate on-going activities with Hardware Planning, Installation and Integration, Civil Engineering and Systems Engineering groups in evaluation and approval of new hardware systems
Ability to develop and communicate Data Center "Best Practices" for use across the Customers' Enterprises
Effective participation in Enterprise-wide Power, Space, and Cooling management discussions and seminars
