Minimum Requirements: Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, or equivalent field, or equivalent experience.
10 years experience in the design and construction of hard-wired and wireless communication systems.
Knowledge of state-of-the-art techniques and current generation of comminications equipment.
Experience working on large communication system projects with various copper, fibre-optic and wireless network components.
Must be able to work collaboratively with other interfacing multi-disciplinary team members (other rail system engineers and civil, structural, electrical and mechanical engineers).
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite 2000, estimating tools, AutoCAD and Intergraph).
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Valid Driver's License.
Must obtain negative result on drug screen performed in accordance with URS drug testing policy. Job Description: Coordinate end-user communications requirements and criteria.
Serve as project Communications system engineer and represent the firm's interests in developing and reviewing designs.
Develop and review cost estimates and projections.
Participate in project working meetings and suggest alternative designs in performing Value Engineering review and analysis.
Provide suggestions to create adjustments as necessary to keep construction costs within budget.
Prepare/review milestone design submittals.
Review contractor submittals and work closely with field force account labor on the installation of Communication systems components and software. EOE M/F/D/V
