Kelly IT is seeking a Systems Engineer with special emphasis in Unix/Linux os administration and systems architecture for a great opportunity to work in a cutting edge Research and Technology Development division of a global equipment manufacturing company. The job is located in Colorado Springs and will require someone to work on-site with standard business hours.

This job is an opportunity to work for a global company in a division where proprietary technology is being developed in a networking engineering/ administration/ and architectural role supporting their mission critical large data management and networking systems. The networking environment is a complex, multigenerational, and heterogeneous blend of servers and operating systems to include Linux, Unix and Windows. We are seeking an experienced network engineer to assist with the performance management, administration, security, and network efficiency

Job Responsibilities include:

• Performance tuning and management of high performance computing clusters in a distributed network and shared memory configuration.
• Provide data security, network security and data disaster recovery.
• Responsible for configuring and administering multiple heterogeneous operating systems including Enterprise Linux and Windows Server.
• Program in administrative languages i.e. tsh, bash, csh, etc .
• Develop technology plans for high performance computing clusters, file servers, network and user workstations that integrate modern technologies, security and stability.
• Ability to contribute to new systems architecture
• Data backups, monitoring firewall and security management, driver failure troubleshooting and other network maintenance.
• Automate compute processes

Job Qualifications include:

• have acquired at least five years of progressively advanced network administration, engineering, and preferred architectural level job responsibilities
• work well independently and in a team environment
• advanced proficiency in linux and unix o/s
• experience with windows server and o/s is preferred
• ability to work with in a blended technical environment to include proprietary technology as well as market standard hardware including Sun and HP servers
• systems architecture and administration experience
• Develop and implement technologies required for reliable infrastructure
• experience managing large data via databases and server network
• scripting skills in related languages
• Experience in enterprise data management, backup and recovery planning and solutions
• Highly motivated individual with the ability to work under stress and meet the deadlines.
• Strong communication, cooperation, interpersonal and presentation skills to manage internal and external interfaces
• Database experience
• Data recovery experience with Bacula is preferred
