Minimum Requirements: Associate's degree or completion of technical trade school courses, or equivalent experience.
Minimum eight years of relevant electrical design experience. Bachelor's degree can substitute for four years of experience. Or AA in disciplinary field can substitute for two years of experience. Or equivalent qualifying experience.
Knowledge of computer based signaling and/or communications-based train control systems.
Experience working on large transit/railroad projects with complex interlockings, signals, and communications.
Must be able to work collaboratively with other interfacing multi-disciplinary team members (other rail system engineers and civil, structural, electrical and mechanical engineers).
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite 2000).
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Valid Driver's License.
Must obtain negative result on drug screen performed in accordance with URS drug testing policy. Job Description: The successful candidate will:
Develop conceptual and detailed signal designs.
Perform signal design and preparation of specifications.
Prepare design calculations.
Assist in the collection of data on manpower, man-hour and labor costs requirements for design staff to aid in evaluating the budget.
Check drawings.
Coordinate with engineers.
Assist in interpreting industry codes, permits, and standards, and ensures design and drawing compliance. EOE M/F/D/V
