Overview:
This position is with the Siebel Service Application team in Baxter's Medical Products IT Division. The Siebel Service Application team manages the application build and delivery for our Global Technical Services Group.
The individual in this role will lead the following objectives:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for more detailed issues from our end user support team in support of the Siebel Service environment.
• Work with end users in defining and understanding problem report details.
• Provide systems support and troubleshooting related to Siebel and its configuration, interaction with the infrastructure.
• Provide assistance in support changes required to support for new development and implementation.
• Assist in refining Level 3 support processes.
• Write/update documentation.
• Investigate root causes and resolutions and provide possible solutions.
• Provide participate in global rollout of platform.
This ideal candidate for this position will possess both technical knowledge of Siebel up thru at least version 8.1. The candidate would also possess solid communication and documentation skills, ability to work within a matrix environment. A benefit would be experience with Wintel and Unix platform administration.
Detailed Review:
Address complex production issues requiring indepth Siebel and process knowledge. Function as an interface between the Plan/Build and Application Run Organization (ARO) functions as well as perform some core development activities within a complex Siebel 8.x environment.
Works collaboratively with the technical staff, system administrators, outside consultants, product vendors and internal business experts to enhance and maintain the Siebel application. Troubleshoot production tickets, build enhancements to the Siebel application and participate in performance tuning activities.
Participate in and contribute on medium to large size projects, own assigned tasks, produce detailed requirements and analysis documents for assigned tasks. Partner with business and other IT teams to complete work. Mentor and train others. Resolve complex system problems. Minimal guidance to complete work.
•Provide support for production systems. Use problem-solving skills to assist in resolution of business problems.
•Respond to and resolve more complex business and technical problems. Identify root causes for problems and propose solutions to prevent recurring problems.
•Implement corrective solutions across an N-Tier Siebel solution stack (web/application/gateway/database)
•Co-ordinate with Third Party vendors and Baxter for resolution/workarounds necessary.
•Drive problem management process thru to providing permanent corrective/preventative actions.
•Co-ordinate updates of and provides updates to required documentation and performs knowledge transfer to ensure supportability of proposed and implemented solutions.
•Development within a Siebel environment including: eScript using Siebel Tools, Integrations using EIM and/or other import/export technologies including WebServices and EAI
•Document development processes consistent with business and validation requirements.
•Participate in all phases of SDLC (define requirements, code, test, debug, and document) with moderate guidance on analysis, and minimal guidance on system integration and coding. Follow the SDLC processes, application processes and quality validation (when appropriate) for medium to large projects.
•Develop project plans and time estimates for assigned tasks in a project.
•Prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written by either the incumbent or others.
•Interact and leverage acquired business knowledge and contact(s) to analyze and define a business application or solution.
•Develop test requirements, and prepare and document test data for complex system testing.
•Forge long-term business relationships to better understand the needs of the business.
•Train and mentor less experienced programmers so that they develop their application skills and understanding of the SDLC and/or quality validation processes.
•Partner with other IT teams to ensure tasks are implemented using IT standards.
•Continue to work with business vendors to resolve day-to-day problems or make process changes. Work with lower level programmers on the more complex activities or problems.
Job Requirements
•5+ years of Siebel administration and support experience in a Siebel 7.8 or higher platform.
•3+ years of Siebel development experience (Siebel tools, eScript, EIM, EAI, Workflows, PL/SQL and batch scripts). Solid understanding of Siebel architecture and framework including all levels of the application (Web, Application, Gateway, Database, Remote).
•Solid experience in structured programming and testing in technologies used and experience in all phases of systems development.
•Solid analysis and problem solving skills.
•Database knowledge.
•Detailed knowledge of SDLC, application processes and standards, ITIL support processes, and quality validation.
•Ability to handle and prioritize multiple responsibilities.
•Must be a solid team player, able to meet deadlines and handle changing priorities.
