Systems Administrator San Diego, CA Contract to hire position
Description: The primary function of the Systems Administrator is to manage and administer the various systems that are critical to our operations, including both hardware and software. These tasks include daily monitoring, changes, deployment, support, and troubleshooting of our client, server environment. The company is geographically diverse, with Windows, Unix, and Apple OS X client / server environments. The role also has responsibilities for performing difficult and complex assignments related to analyzing existing systems and defining, designing, and developing new system requirements in support of company's products or services with limited supervision. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Support of corporate applications, corporate servers, VPN based network, and client machines.
Account maintenance for users through Active Directory.
Keep computer equipment, hardware, and software updated to meet organizational needs.
Perform routine administration with Windows server environments including, but not limited to, Exchange, Active Directory, Microsoft SQL, Communications and SharePoint.
Ensure proper functioning of the company's information processing system and make changes as directed.
• Assist in planning, design, and implementation of corporate infrastructure including network, business support applications, and communications, such as messaging, scheduling, product development, and video conferencing. • Handling all aspects of systems administration such as troubleshooting, e-mail, backup, archiving, disaster recovery, and security.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Network Systems Admin, Manager.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
BA/BS in Computer Science or related discipline, and 5-8 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Expertise with the following: perimeter devices, Microsoft Exchange 2007/10, Unix administration, Apple OS X administration, and Windows XP, 2003, 2008 administration • Experience in a rapidly changing environment is a plus
Experience with Cisco networking equipment is a plus
Data Center Operations experience is a plus
