The Structures Method group in Hot section Engineering at Pratt & Whitney is seeking a CMC Structures Engineer. This position presents an opportunity for a motivated engineer to work with a team dedicated to advancing a key technology (CMCs). Specific job function will include:
The candidate will be responsible for structural analysis of ceramic matrix composite structures. This will include meeting the product design & performance intent; preparation and successful completion of design reviews; mentor and oversee analysis of less experienced engineers and/or outsourced functions; able to improvise and integrate advanced analysis methods during the design cycle for enhanced fidelity and efficiency; meeting the schedule and milestone by working with the program leader.
The candidate will also advance the sate of analysis and lifing methods for ceramic matrix composite structures. This will involve a vision and sound technical approach, able to execute independently and work with experts at the research center and academia.

Minimum 5+ years of experience in analyzing composite structures (post education)
Highly proficient in finite element analysis (ANSYS or ABAQUS). Working knowledge of composite specific codes / software is a plus.
