Requires ability to organize and prepare complex structural drawings for buildings and transit structures in reinforced concrete, structural steel and other building materials, in accordance with client CAD standards, under minimal supervision. Strong participation in quality of work produced and co-ordination with other disciplines. Requires ability to perform related tasks including shop drawing review and field review of construction
Must be able to prepare structural drawings on MicroStation V8i/V8 2004 and AutoCAD 2008, with good working knowledge of MS Office applications including Word and Excel
Job Description: This successful candidate will assume a lead role in the building structures department, accountable for all drawing production, quality control and adherence to company and client CAD standards
You will be assigned as lead structural CADD drafter, responsible for the preparation and administration of contract drawings, supervision of junior CAD technicians, coordination with other disciplines, shop drawing review and occasional field review. The work will include a wide variety of projects including subway stations and other transit facilities, vehicle storage/maintenance facilities, office buildings, parking structures, public facilities, municipal and industrial facilities in structural steel , reinforced concrete and other materials. You will organize the drawings and be accountable for meeting company and client CAD standards. Ability to develop sections and details with minimum direction will be an asset. You will also maintain a library of structural typical details, general notes and participate in developing process improvements to increase efficiency
