Structural Analysis Liaison Engineer 3 ~ S. Carolina
Develops, integrates and documents structural requirements to establish the system design. Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product''s environment. Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance. Develops test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied. Supports in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements. Works under general direction.

Technical• Aircraft Structure
Complete knowledge of aircraft structure, materials strengths and properties, design criteria, loading conditions, and processes (e.g. non destructive testing, corrosion prevention)

Broad ability to evaluate complex vehicles and systems from a multitude of perspectives. Includes the ability to apply figures of merit and integrated optimization tools. Ability to perform multi-disciplinary trade studies to evaluate configuration alternatives for functional and spatial integration.

Typical Education/Experience
Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Structural Engineering positions require a minimum of a BS Degree, preferred in the following disciplines: MECHANICAL, CIVIL, AEROSPACE/AERONAUTICAL ENGINEERING. ABET accreditation preferred. Requires extensive experience in the following: aircraft stress / structural analysis; Larg / primary structures; Aircraft fuselage / wing / empennage / structural certification; Metallic and composite Structures. This position is located at Boeing Charleston 3455 Airframe Drive, North Charleston, SC. All employees will be on the Boeing Charleston benefit structure. Successful candidates for this assignment will have 787 program experience, extensive experience with aircraft structures and systems to structures integration. Experience with production support and composite repair is strongly desired. The candidate must have a demonstrated record of technical accomplishment, good oral and written communication skills, the ability to handle multiple complex projects simultaneously, and the initiative and leadership to bring tasks to completion on time. The position will require excellent people skills and the ability to negotiate and build consensus are required. This position may require overtime and the candidate must be willing to work overtime when required. This position offers the potential to broaden skills and experience across multiple engineering disciplines. The candidate must be willing to stretch beyond their experience base. This position is best suited to an individual who is self-motivated and works well under significant pressure.
