Structural Analysis Engineer 1\2

Performs basic structural analyses of International Space Station (ISS) hardware using classical hand analysis, finite element model simulations, and other analysis tools to validate and verify that systems and components meet requirements and specifications under constantly changing on-orbit environments. Verifies structural integrity of hardware throughout the product lifecycle by performing fatigue and fracture analyses to ensure continued safety of flight. Documents and presents results to customers to substantiate satisfaction of requirements. Coordinates with adjacent engineering teams and disciplines to establish the products environment. Works under general supervision.

Typical Education/Experience
Level 1 - Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Level 2 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience.
