Steering System Release Engineer
The Steering System Release Engineer is responsible for designing and validating all steering system components to meet vehicle and program requirements. Additionally, the candidate will author technical specifications (Product Card) for responsible components/systems. Establish designs that meet technical specifications, product performance cost and best practice/reuse/technical innovation strategies/idate component/systems and test methods/processes and execution while meeting program timing requirements. Develop, release and validate product torque and required assembly specifications. Additional responsibilities include all product model geometry, VPM tree placement, correct change level, etc. Coordinate component releasefor specific model(s). Ensure maintenance of accurate EBOM. Manage change management process for responsible commodities (documentation, cost & timing, implementation). Manage prototype parts supply (procurement documentation, cost & timing, etc.).
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical from an ABET accredited university • Minimum of 2 to 5 years' experience in chassis or steering engineering. Able to travel, in and outside of North America
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university • Steering system design experience • Supplier management experience • Chassis design experience • Understanding of vehicle dynamics
