The Hot Section Engineering team in Florida is looking for a motivated, high energy individual to participate in the development of innovative advanced exhaust system designs (TECs to Nozzles) for a variety of programs ranging from concept initiation/optimization to flight demonstrators.
This Advanced Engine Programs Design Team member will drive sound engineering decisions in the execution of assigned tasks and has sufficient depth and diversity of skills in the mechanical design discipline, human relations, and leadership to oversee all technical aspects of the projects under his/her span of control.
Current design work includes JSF and Navy UCAS exhaust systems, technology demonstration activities, as well as improving design practices, and tools and methods development. The design engineering team will also support the coordination, procurement, fabrication/construction, first piece inspection, and validation of advanced exhaust systems considering cost, feasibility, safety, environmental impact, and adherence to program requirements. Frequent interfacing with Engine Project and Systems Groups is required.
Applicant needs to be an expert in the use of a CAD system (UG is preferred)and have a substantial grounding in the fundamentals of engineering and manufacturing.
The successful candidate will work in a team environment as part of an integrated product team and will contribute to the overall design, analysis, fabrication, and validation of these novel structures. Significant interaction with internal and external customers is expected on these important programs. Therefore, good communication skills and assertiveness are keys to success.
Position requires candidate to hold or be capable of holding US government security clearance
