Minimum Requirements: Must have BS and MS degrees in Civil Engineering, with emphasis on geotechnical engineering. Must have good organizational skills and the ability to work independently. Engineering experience with slope stability evaluation and seepage analysis.
Working knowledge of SLOPE/W, SEEP/W, LPILE, GROUP. Job Description: Supervise geotechnical field exploration activities, including rotary-wash drilling and sampling, solid and hollow-stem auger drilling. Review soil and rock samples recovered during field exploration, verify field classifications, order and perform appropriate laboratory tests. Review laboratory test results with Project Engineer to select pertinent engineering properties for engineering analysis. Conduct engineering analysis for typical geotechnical engineering design considerations, including bearing capacity, settlement, lateral earth pressures on retaining walls and buried structures, lateral resistance of piles or drilled shafts. Prepare summary calculations of engineering analyses. Make construction observations of earthwork and perform field tests. EOE M/F/D/V
