Staff Engineer Riser Systems
The Staff Engineer designs, provides direction and assistance to support order execution. In this role, you will make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning. This position will be in the Riser Systems Group and will provide product development support for the drilling and production business.
Design and development of drilling risers and associated equipment; including gimbals, spiders, flex joints and handling tools
Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, procedures, schedules, specifications and contractual requirements
Provide assistance and technical guidance to internal and external customers to solve problems
Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting assigned projects
Document technical data generated by the assigned project including field procedures consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and issues
Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of 3 years of experience in drilling riser design or a minimum of 7 years of mechanical design without oil field experience

Product knowledge of subsea wellheads and connectors
Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing ANSI Y14.5M (GD&T)
Offshore experience
Finite Element Analysis, preferably ANSYS
Knowledgeable in Pro / E
MS Office applications, MathCad, AutoCAD
Knowledgeable of applicable codes and standards (API, ASME)
Ability to work in a team environment on short or long term projects.
Strong oral and written communication skills
Good presentation skills
