Job Description: URS Ontario office is looking for a qualified Civil Engineering candidate with emphasis on hydraulics/hydrology to join our Los Angeles Basin Water & Wastewater Group as a Staff Engineer for planning and design of water, wastewater and water resources projects to address the needs of a growing water resources infrastructure practice. Selected candidate will support a variety of hydraulics engineering analysis and design projects using a variety of simple to very sophisticated computer models including but not limited to HEC Programs (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HEC-GeoRAS), FLO-2D, InfoWater, InfoWorks, MikeURBAN, Mike 11, Mike 21, SWMM, WaterCAD, HAMMER, WaterGEMS, InfoSurge, Surge2008, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) etc. As a staff engineer, the successful candidate will assist senior engineers in project execution, project cost estimates and schedules, project work plans, keeping projects on schedule and within budget, and coordinating / participating in the preparation of technical reports documenting project activities, findings, and recommendations. The successful candidate must have some understanding and hands-on experience of some of the above mentioned hydraulics/hydrology modeling software packages, and must have applied them on a few projects. The candidate must also have some theoretical understanding of hydraulic and hydrology principles and how the models work in order to interpret the model results. EOE M/F/D/V
