Responsible for performing on-site or in-house servicing, repairs and/or installations of customer-owned products. Candidate will provide technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment and serve as customer contact on technical and service-related problems. Applicant will be required to maintain a network consisting of primarily Cisco routers and switches, but a strong knowledge of Marconi and other vendor products a plus. Applicant must have a firm grasp of layer 2 switching and layer 3 routing and will be asked to design complex routing and switching schemes to support a changing environment. Applicant shall be proficient in EIGRP, STP, VTP, ACLs, and layer 3 tunnels and must understand how to monitor network devices with Cisco Works, SNMP, and syslog to perform fault and root cause analysis. Candidate must be able to provide detailed network documentation. A working knowledge of TACLANE/FASTLANE is preferred.
A Bachelor's Degree in computer science or equivalent experience, along with advanced and specialized training in networks/systems administration/network administration desired. Applicant must be accustomed to military deployed environments. A familiarity with server hardware, communication systems, and intelligence information systems is preferred. A comprehensive technical knowledge with strong communication skills (written & oral), and strong customer interface skills is extremely important. An Industry Standard certification is required: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) with specific focus toward Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent level.
Minimum (5) years experience in the LAN/WAN administration. Require strong troubleshooting background in networking and communications equipment.
Shift work, extended deployments to hazardous duty zones. 24 hour recall/mobilize for deployment. TS/SBI SCI Clearance required; Industry-recognized certification required. This is a deployable position reporting to the South East Regional Service Center, under the GDIT-ISD Tampa Area Office. Deployments are within South West Asia and will be of a duration of one year.
