GDIT job description: Monitors and responds to hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques. Installs and configures network hardware and software. Provides network troubleshooting and support. Provides technical support and training to end-users. Administers network security. BCTC actual job description: This position requires a broad technical skillset including a strong set of desktop support and hardware skills and good people interaction skills. Tasks involve the physical setup, configuration, operation, troubleshooting and support of simulation hardware and software components. Start, initialize, and configure systems to prepare for each training event requirements. Quickly and effectively troubleshoot systems to correct and overcome any issues. Be current on Army's doctrine, tactics, equipment, weapons and procedures. Be familiar with related Army Battle Command Systems (ABCS). Conduct necessary aspects of networking to include cabling, setup and testing. Be proficient with LINUX and MICROSOFT based programs. Knowledge of the technical analysis for Joint Land Component Constructive Training Capability-Entity Resolution Federation (JLCCTC-ERF) a plus. Systems Administrative duties include supporting the site lead, provide support in IASO and SA duties as needed. Interact and provide technical support to the Reconfigurable Tactical Operations Center (RTOC) and the Warrior Skills convoy Trainer (WST) as needed. Develop new systems or updates existing systems to meet customer's needs. Identifies emergent relevant technologies that may result in improvements to current processes. Prepare and present reports and briefings, technical assessments, design documents and implementation plans. Acts in the capacity of senior technician coordinating all site technical efforts in support of customer requirements.
Associate's Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
3-5 years of directly related experience supporting network operations.
1) Must be able to obtain, maintain and transfer a SECRET Clearance. 2) Must have a valid driver's license. 3) Must be able to travel.
