Super High Frequency (SHF) Communications technician for technical support services on SHF Communications equipment for various classes of U.S. Navy ships. Individual will be responsible for performing electronic, electrical and mechanical evaluations, alignments and repairs on the following SATCOM Broadband communications equipment:
AN/WSC-6 SATCOM Radios all variants, and all variants and components
Perform wide variety of activities associated with material condition assessment, installation, removal, maintenance and servicing electrical/electronic/mechanical equipment under limited supervision. Troubleshoot and correct malfunctions using specialized electronic test and diagnostic equipment. Able to read equipment installation drawings, signal flow diagrams, engineering drawings, schematics and cable run sheets. Competent with MS Office applications used to produce various technical and administrative reports. Able to communicate project status, problems, solutions and lessons learned verbally and in writing. Able to work independently with limited supervision or support.
Associates Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training or work experience.
This position is an immediate need and has a high priority. Candidate needs a minimum of four years experience with NEC (Navy Enlisted Code) for WSC-6 SATCOM equipment.
Should have prior U.S. Navy shipboard experience. FTSCLANT/MARMC/NSSA experience is preferred.
