Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer Specialist
Job Department / Program: Payload Systems Engineer
Job Location: Palo Alto, California
Team/Department: Communications Systems - Payload Systems Engineering is the primary function behind a satellite. The work includes proposal efforts, front end design, detailed analyses and development and integration and testing of the end product. Interdisciplinary teams from multiple subsystems keep the tasks fresh and exciting. Some travel to suppliers and operators can offer a unique experience and opportunity to better understand the customer's end needs.
Role/Job Responsibilities:
.Performs design, development and analysis of satellite communications system requirements and systems specifications, such as interface control documents, for a defined system. May act as task leader
.Supports system level testing and participates in the analysis of system performance
.Develops system test requirements and procedures and performs system test analysis
.Identifies technical problems and recommends solutions
.Provides detailed reports and recommendations
.Assists in evaluation of subcontract deliverables documentation and the evaluation of internal/external vendors
.Performs integral design and analysis in engineering specialty
.Participates in Engineering Review boards and proposal teams. Provides technical inputs as assigned
Job Qualifications:
.The Successful Candidate must have: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, applied physics or related field
.Proficiency in the use of computer aided design and analysis tools
.Understanding of electrical engineering, applied physics and mathematics as they relate to satellite communications systems
.Desired skills and experiences: 5 years of related work experience, 3 years with MS degree or with a Ph.D., some related experience is desirable
