Sr Specialist-Product Development Engr
Primary role of this individual contributor test engineer is to oversee and conduct prototype device interoperability testing during the field trial phase of the product approval process. The majority of work in this position will be device certification testing in stationary and mobile environments. Working independently, this test engineer will be required to test and validate new features and applications on wireless devices within the live network. This test engineer will also support his/her team by overseeing internal user trials of the prototype devices under test. Problems of various degrees will be reported by the trial users. The test engineer is required to analyze the problems reported and investigate with little to no assistance from their supervisor or senior development engineers in the team. During the investigations, the test engineer will gather data; consult with subject matter experts or senior development engineers and drive toward resolution. Typically reports to a second level manager.
Qualifications:
Good technical and leadership skills.
Working knowledge of GSM/UMTS/LTE wireless networks and their functional blocks.
2 to 3 years of relevant engineering experience such as:
RF or RAN engineering experience.
RF and/or System performance experience.
Mobile handset test engineering experience.
Ability to independently drive work to completion with minimal instruction.
Ability to thrive within a fast paced environment with rapidly changing priorities.
Good troubleshooting capabilities, analysis and problem solving experience.
Excellent communication skills working in both small and large groups of engineers and management.
Advanced experience with PC computer operation, Windows OS, driver installs and troubleshooting.
Experienced with IP networking and troubleshooting.
Applicant must have a valid driver's license and meet the minimum requirements of the AT&T Driving Standards.
Desired Qualifications -
BS degree in Engineering/Computer Science/Math/Science.
Experience with 3GPP L3 specifications. (focus on UE & UTRAN)
Solid understand and work experience with wireless data communication.
Experience with mobile drive test equipment and processes. (NOMAD, TEMS, QXDM)
