Sr. Software Engineer (EWR) Location: CO, Colorado Springs Req Number: SD-SENSORS-9651 Position Description: This position supports the software sustainment for a phased array radar system. The person filling this position will perform lifecycle maintenance engineering of software applications, implementing/enhancing software mainly in JOVIAL and COMPASS but also may be required to work in C++. CYBER OS experience is also required. This position is responsible for performing requirements analysis and definition, supporting preliminary and critical designs; supporting code implementation, unit testing, and test engineering as needed on assigned software changes; and leading project SW teams in the successful accomplishment of their assignments. ' Software analysis of code, log file, and documentation to arrive at probable causes for discrepancy reports and potential system enhancements. This will require an architectural-level understanding of the SW as implemented for a radar system. In the course of this analysis, you may need to use modeling, prototyping, or simulation of the proposed system changes. ' Work with customers and operators to define requirements ' Support software modifications with an understanding of user impacts ' Further develop and enhance the use of a unit test framework ' Provide expertise for radar functions and how the software implements them ' Perform and coordinate SW CM activities ' Perform and coordinate document red-lines ' Conduct meetings with the customer ' Support software system integration ' Communicate with site personnel regarding any issues that may arise and the best course of action to resolve them ' Travel to supported sites for prototype and formal testing events Other duties as assigned Experience Requirements: Education / Experience / Other Requirements: Computer science or SW engineering BS with 7 years experience or MS with 5 years experience . Must have at least 5 years recent, primary JOVIAL experience. Must have CYBER operating system (NOS/RTOS) experience as applied to BMEWS/PAVE PAWS Early Warning Radar systems. Must be able to operate well within a team. Minimum: Must be a US citizen. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance if required; may be required to obtain an interim clearance within 6 months of document submittal. Relevant equivalent experience may apply.
