Territory (if applicable): Dairy Foods Business Unit: Land O'Lakes Dairy Foods division is a leading marketer of a full line of dairy-based consumer, foodservice and food ingredient products across the United States. Position Purpose: The primary responsibility of this position is to lead the development of new packages, maintenance and cost optimization of primary and secondary packaging for the Land O Lakes enterprise. The candidate will be responsible of all required specifications, documentation and package testing to support product release. The individual will be required to take a leadership role with packaging projects (Feed & Dairy Foods) and possess the ability to influence and interface with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environments to deliver results. Required (Basic) Experience & Education: A BS degree in Packaging, Engineering or a related Science discipline is required. Candidates applying for this opening should have strong technical proficiencies in Engineering, Packaging and/or product development with 5+ years of experience. Managerial experience will be a plus. Required Competencies & Other Skills: Persons applying must demonstrate leadership potential and proven effective interpersonal and communication skills. Proactive leader that can achieve results through cross functional teamwork with internal and external resources. Strong planning and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple rapidly changing priorities; focus to achieve customer expectations. Support the development, preparation and submission of specifications for packaging components. Excellent communication/interpersonal skills with business partners. Ability to achieve accelerated time tables while maintaining cooperative working relationships. Proven ability to solve technical issues. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as MS office applications and palletization software such as TOPS or CAPE. Preferred Experience & Education: A masters degree in Packaging Engineering preferred. Preferred Competencies & Other Skills: Experience with flexible films as well as packaging equipment commissioning is preferred.
