We're responsible for developing, designing, planning and building AT&T's wireless and wired networks, including the nation's fastest 3G wireless network, our groundbreaking U-verse network and one of the world's largest and most advanced IP backbone networks. Just as importantly, our team conducts industry-leading research and development for network technologies as well as the applications that take advantage of connectivity
Plan, design, and engineer the wireless core network efficiently and effectively. Areas of responsibility span wireless network elements such as; BSCs, RNCs, Cisco FEMTO Access Controllers, TCMs, TRAUs, RCATS, and 3G KPI probes. Analyze the forecast to identify BSC/RNC requirements (including adjunct equipment such as TRAU and Probes). Trigger (kickoff) new BSCs/RNC Additions (IWOS). Prepare BSC/RNC associated data fill; TND/CIQ. Design and manager BTS/Node B & BSC/RNC Borders and LACs. Support LAYER 4-7 NETWORK ENGINEERING Org.
Performs non-supervisory assignments involving the planning, design, development and/or implementation of a geographically specific master plan consistent with department/entity strategy. This integrated master plan directs the implementation of technology incorporating product specific market strategies and local requirements across the geographic area. Recipients/users of the master plan may include line engineering current planners and engineers. Secondary users include operations, real estate, fundamental planning, and marketing. Directs implementation, communicates strategy, and provides direction to current planners (switch, data, transport, OSP, and space.) Leads interdiscipline/interdepartmental teams for the purpose of problem resolution. Directs issue to long-range technical planning. Primary points of contact for external interfaces and internal network engineering coordinates. Develops and evaluates network performance criteria and measurement methods. Develops alternative routing scenarios and changes in required sequence of network activities. May conduct economic and population growth studies to determine impact on network capacity and development plan projections. May be responsible for design, analysis, planning, and modification of network components supporting customer communication implementation activities. May conduct network architecture design, feasibility, and cost studies. Provides guidance and direction to less experienced engineers. Seasoned in-depth knowledge of functional/process area. Seen as SME for group/function. Typically reports to Second or Third Level ervisory: NO however in some cases may provide training or mentoring to less experienced staff.
This position may be responsible for contributing to AT&T�s compliance with environmental laws and regulations as applicable to its job function. This may include, but is not limited to, work related to fuel tanks, emergency and stand-by generators, boilers, hazardous waste, hazardous materials, batteries, manholes and vaults, water wells, linear and other construction projects, water discharge, or air emissions.
