Sr Mechanical Engineer (Electronic Packaging)
Title: Sr Mechanical Engineer (Electronic Packaging) Location: Iowa-Cedar Rapids, IA Senior Mechanical Engineer responsible for the electronic packaging of a variety of Avionics equipment, including mission computer, flight control, communication/navigation and cabin electronics system products. Efforts include enclosure structural design, printed wiring board design, thermal, vibration, other environmental considerations, design verification, prototype build and transition to the factory. The position requires interaction with various electrical engineers to establish functional partitioning and boundary conditions. All work will be located inCedar Rapids Iowa.
Candidate must possess knowledge of principles and techniques commonly used in product development, perform assignments requiring the use and application of moderate to advanced mechanical engineering principles and techniques and be capable of performing mechanical design and analysis to meet system requirements. Will be required to plan and manage mechanical activities within project scope, budget and schedule constraints. Other principal accountabilities include: . Assuring the generation, release and maintenance of complex technical documentation in accordance with Company & contractual requirements. . Estimate project costs and schedules and participate in preparation of proposals and presentations. . Assuring Company & technical consistent processes are followed.
Additional requirements: Familiarity with structural and thermal analysis tools such as ANSYS, Flotherm and FloPCB. Familiarity with forced-convection cooling systems is desired. Must possess good research skills and practiced verbal and written communication skills. Working knowledge of Unigraphics mechanical CAD system is highly desired. Requires a Bachelor's Degree in applicable engineering or science field and a minimum of eight years related exempt experience, or, in the absence of a bachelor's degree, fourteen years of related experience.
