Job Title Sr Mechanical Design Engineer Job ID Number SM10-4108 Company Armament and Technical Products Location Southern/Portland, ME Job Category Engineering Shift 1st Salary $66,555-$82,215 Job Description The Sr. Manufacturing Design Mechanical Engineer position is a critical link between the GDATP engineering team located in Burlington,Vermont and the GDATP manufacturing facility in located Saco, Maine. The job responsibilities for the Senior Design Mechanical Engineer include:
* Perform moderate to complex design analysis, hardware development and test assignments.
* Develop engineering changes for products, improving functionality and manufacturability. Independently apply engineering theory in the development and assessment of alternative design concepts.
* Support test activities, write test plans and reports.
* Perform failure analysis investigations, including formal root cause and corrective action.
* Support customer demonstrations.
* Review material returned for refurbishment/repair, identify defects, and develop rework and/or repair procedures.
* Provide training support to the customer or end user.
B.S. (Required), M.S. (Desirable) in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
Proactive, innovative and self motivated - Team oriented, with strong written and verbal communication skills - Strong technical and analytical skills - Well organized; effectively documents work.
Four to five years of design experience. Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
