The Hot Section Engineering team in Florida is looking for highly motivated and experienced Turbine Airfoil Design Engineers to support exciting new and existing programs.
The successful candidate will develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs of airfoil components for gas turbine propulsion systems, and perform fundamental calculations, using small computer models, to quickly assess the validity of design concepts. This position requires coordination of inputs from aerodynamic, structural, heat transfer, and manufacturing experts to arrive at design solutions that balance the requirements of performance, cost, and weight.
Position requires:
1) Candidate to hold or be capable of holding a US government security clearance.
2) Strong communication, interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
3) Demonstrated problem-solving experience in multi-functional team environment

A minimum of 5+ years of turbine airfoil design experience is required. The design engineer will work in a team environment as part of an integrated product team and will contribute to the overall design, analysis, fabrication, and validation of these novel structures. Significant interaction with internal and external customers is expected on these important programs. Therefore, good communication skills are required.
Demonstrated success working with manufacturing experts and continuous improvement tools (RRCA, QCPC, and Process Cert.) to identify preferred processes and associated process capabilities is also desired.
