Sr. Computer Scientist (Java) Location: MD, Annapolis Junction Req Number: AES19144 Position Description: IIT is in need of a Sr. Computer Scientist to form a team for a development contract. The goal of this contract is to schedule our Intel customer's operations factoring in resource availability, OPSEC rules, operator training, operational priority, and other constraints. There is currently a standalone version that has been developed in an unclassified environment, but the customer would like to move that development into a classified environment and redesign the application to fit into their emerging service oriented architecture. The redesigned application will consist of a series of web services that leverage other corporate services and data repositories.
The selected candidates will form a new team responsible for the development of this redesign. In the short term, the team will become familiar with the existing application to understand the business logic (algorithms) related to scheduling. The team will potentially add additional logic to that baseline to support operational use of the product. Once the team understands the business logic, the team will begin the redesign to fit into a service architecture.
Migration to a new architecture will involve not only development of web services, but also the incorporation of a rules engine to execute the scheduling algorithms. The customer would like to move from having the scheduling logic hardcoded in Java to a COTS / open source rules engine. To support this architectural change, the selected candidate will prototype, then develop a rules based scheduling service.
Experience Requirements: Required Skills: Programming experience with Java / J2EE Programming experience with JDBC / Hibernate Ability to extract business logic from existing software

Security: Candidates must have TS/SCI clearance with full scope poly.
Bachelors Degree in Science, Math, Engineering and 8-10 years
