Sr. Systems/Business Systems Analyst @ Baxter

This position is a key member of the Baxter Global Information Quality Team and serves as the functional liaison for regulatory driven IT projects.
You'll be responsible for: solving complex problems with IT solutions in a demanding business environment; defining requirements that drive solutions for both new initiatives and existing application changes; minor configuration changes in production, and accountable for defining test activities within a validated environment. You'll also help support critical applications that are used, across the globe, supporting the safety of Baxter's products.
Key experiences and attributes:
- 7+ years experience in systems support/development applying systems solutions to business problems: defining business processes & requirements, identifying and evaluating technical solutions, testing solutions, documenting/maintaining requirements, assisting in training activities, deploying solutions, and resolving critical production issues.
- Experience working with package software implementations within an SDLC framework.
- 3+ years direct experience working in a validated and regulated environment. Specific experience in supporting IT systems in Quality, Regulatory, or Pharmacovigilance is preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of relational data bases; data modeling; and reporting systems
- Technical experience in configuring systems is preferred but not required
- Demonstrated strong communication and presentation skills, and attention to detail
- Demonstrated results in working both independently and as a member of a cross-functional team

Detailed Summary:
Responsible for gathering, documenting, testing, and maintaining requirements for Quality IT systems in a validated environment. Individual ensures that deliverables are completed with quality that stands up to global audit scrutiny in a regulated environment, while meeting project milestones. Individual will assist project manager in identification of project milestones and task dependencies.
Individual will work with systems that use the following technologies: Sparta Trackwise, Pilgrim Software, Siemens TeamCenter, Cognos, Crystal Reports, SharePoint, , and Data Integration Tools (Websphere, DataStage, etc)
Individual will work with Quality, other IT departments, and software vendors collaboratively to define requirements or troubleshoot issues. Individual will employ facilitation skills to drive a cross functional/regional group of users to consensus and agreement on difficult decisions. Individual should be able to effectively challenge and provide alternates when appropriate in requirements discussions.
Responsible for providing the right level of details and using the right communication methods with multiple audiences such as testers, developers, validation lead, project manager, end users, etc
DETAILS
•Gather, understand and document business objectives, specifications and requirements on medium/large size projects.
•Develop, and execute unit/system test cases, scripts and plans. Facilitate testing activities within the team.
•Define, design and document business flows and processes for medium/large projects.
•Define and articulate business rules required for data accuracy and consistency. Define and resolve data quality issues. Act as the primary contact for the data management team/process.
•Provide support on applications supported within the organization. Mentor/train junior team members.
•Identify, analyze, propose and document appropriate solutions for problems and issues that may impact the project. Identify and understand broader business impact. Determine solutions and escalate when appropriate. Use technical tools (queries, process maps, etc) for problem resolution.
•Understand and follow appropriate SDLC, quality validation processes and application processes.
•Communicate status, solutions and concerns. Disseminate information in a timely manner within the team and across functions. Establish and maintain relationships within the business or function.
•Provide cross-functional and business knowledge to develop business system and process alternatives. Provide strong knowledge of an enterprise/ cornerstone system (such as JDE, PeopleSoft, Siebel, Metaphase).
•Train others as appropriate on specific area of business or systems expertise. Assist in development of training materials and/or conduct training.
Job Requirements
•Extensive knowledge of the application development process with a proven record of delivery on projects.
•Strong knowledge of relational databases concepts and configurable systems.
•Familiarity with business process flow and/or entity relationship modeling.
•Strong communication (verbal/written/listening) and presentation skills. Strong influencing skills.
•Good organizational skills.
•Demonstrated focus on quality.
•Must be detail oriented and able to work within a team setting.
•Bachelor degree preferred or relevant work experience in systems or business.
•7+ years experience in systems support/development applying systems solutions to business problems.
•Experience in system testing, problem resolution, and training.
•3+ years experience working in a validated and regulated environment
•Experience supporting IT systems in Quality, Regulatory, or Pharmacovigilance preferred.
•Six Sigma Green belt a plus.
