Specialist Engineer, Electrical/Avionics'; Piper Aircraft, Inc. is seeking a Specialist Engineer, Electrical/Avionics at their location inVero Beach,Florida. SUMMARY: Produce electrical schematics and avionics installation drawings utilizing AutoCAD. Provide guidance and technical directions for drafters and engineers involved in the design and approval of avionics and electrical systems. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Review and approve drawings per the Company’s Delegation Option Authority (DOA) certification system as prescribed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Design assemblies, harnesses and installations manually or utilizing Auto Cad computer program. Generate drawing, schematic and substantiation reports required for the installation, test and approval of avionics and electrical systems in production as well as in custom avionics installation programs. Engineering design of radio equipment and autopilot integration. Layout instrument panels to meet FAA regulations and human factors. Locate remote equipment and antennas for optimum performance. Design shelves or mounting brackets as required. Select any peripheral equipment required to integrate and operate as a package. Compose and/or approve the Company’s specifications in accordance with DOA procedures. Initiate test procedures/plans for electrical component and installations to ensure compliance with FAA regulations. Provide technical support to Conduct research and development activities concerned with avionic/electronic component design and installation. Provide technical support to Production, Customer Service, Quality Control, Purchasing and Marketing departments concerning electrical systems as required. Assist Finance department in pricing of new packages or custom orders. Perform other related duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
