This Software Engineer will be part of the Commercial Systems Aircraft Application department which provides aircraft Maintenance System, Engine Indication and Crew Alerting System, and Electronic Checklist functionality. The selected candidate will perform in all phases of the software engineering life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, code development, integration and test, tools development and documentation in support of FAA requirements. This Engineer will be expected to grow their technical expertise on team products and assume some Subsystems responsibilities related to requirements capture and test.
To be successful in this position you must be a self-starter, be able to handle unexpected events, and take advantage of opportunities and events to achieve results that exceed expectations. This individual must be able to communicate with employees at all levels in the organization, and must have excellent problem solving, data analysis, and critical thinking skills.
The following skills and experience are desired for the position: - C / C / Object Oriented software development experience - Networks and Network protocol experience - UNIX Operating System experience - Experience in capturing and implementing software requirements - Some user interface development experience - Some project engineering skills, such as task planning and estimating - Ability to perform to cost and schedule plans - Familiarity with the software development life cycle processes - Experience in developing and verifying within real-time embedded systems is desirable - Exposure to Ethernet protocols desirable
The successful candidate will also possess the following attributes: - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Must be highly motivated, have a passion to win, be very flexible and energetic - Must be capable of solving difficult problems - Must be interested in commercial aircraft and aircraft systems integration - Demonstration of leadership qualities is preferred This position may involve some domestic travel.
Bachelor's Degree in applicable engineering or science field, or, in the absence of an bachelor's degree, six years of related engineering experience.
