Job Description: Embedded software engineer responsible for product support and maintenance covering all facets of VIDA technologies including P25, EDACS and OpenSky radio terminals and other ancillary equipment associated with Harris’ IP-Based Land Mobile Radio (LMR) system. A breadth of knowledge ranging from ARM processor and DSP internals to device drivers and applications is required. Additional experience and understanding of RF communications, IP networks and audio will enable success in this role. Qualifications: BS Computer Science / Computer Engineering degree with 4+ years experience Programming languages (Assembly, C, C++) Excellent C programming expertise in a Windows development environment Solid problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Ability to work well in a small team environment and make significant individual contributions Excellent organizational, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills Preferred Additional Skills: Harris/ M/A-COM land mobile OMAP based radio products and familiarity with the SW structure and operation is a discrete advantage. In particular, experience with the ARM and DSP architectures of these products. Embedded real-time operating system such as Nucleus or equivalent Developing applications and control functions on a real-time operating system Best practices software development skills Digital communication protocols IP networking design and diagnostics including Cisco command language An understanding of RF propagation and its effects on product performance.
