Software Engineer 2\3 Real Time Software
Boeing - St. Louis Software Engineering is seeking early career software engineers to staff positions supporting a variety of aerospace and defense programs. Responsibilities include full lifecycle software development ranging from requirements, coding and test, to delivery and field support. Depending on job assignment the successful candidate may support aircraft and weapon system flight software, laboratory pilot in the loop simulation, flight simulator development supporting ground based training, or aircraft maintenance and support applications such as mission planning systems. These positions require energetic individuals working in a professional software development environment. As a software engineer you will play a key role in the development of Boeing Defense products. With experience, assignments of greater responsibility are possible. These assignments could be leadership or management positions or perhaps a technical assignment defining the software architecture for a large scale software system.

Typical Education/Experience
Level 2 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Level 3 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Other Job related information
Preferred degrees are Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Aerospace engineering. Limited travel may be required depending on the job assignment. An ability to obtain an interim clearance (pre-start) and final clearance (post-start) is required for this position - US Citizenship Required or equivalent (Refer to Security Clearance Definitions link above). Applicants who currently possess a security clearance should include the security clearance level, investigation type and investigation date clearly on their resume. The successful candidate will have experience in some of the following areas: Real-time software engineering; C#, .NET, C/C++, Ada and/or Java, with Object Oriented methodology skills; knowledge of Avionics and aircraft systems.
