(NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor for its LaPorte, TX facility.
The Site Supervisor is part of the LaPorte HyCO III plant management team and is responsible for a broad range of duties focused on ensuring all aspects of operational discipline are in place and functioning properly for the LaPorte, TX Global Operations Facility. The expectation is that the position incumbent will progress to future plant management opportunities of increasing responsibility.
This position reports to the LaPorte HyCO III Site Supervisor and will interface daily with the LaPorte operations team which includes: operator technicians, delivery drivers, maintenance technicians, material coordinator and various various regional engineers located in LaPorte and the West Gulf Coast Area.
Key Responsiblities for this position include:
Working with the LaPorte Plant Team to ensure the following elements of Operational Discipline are in place and functioning properly: . Follow and maintain operating procedures . Understand safe operating, design, permit limits; activily practice alarm management . Develop and maintain troubleshooting skills and operational "know-how" . Use and update P&IDs, ensure P&ID literacy is achieved . Skill and knowledge to execute MOC/Jumper Bypass . Know the process technology and chemisty . Implement and share best practices, train in their use. Learn from incidents and investigation . Follow and carry out site PM and MI programs . Excel in application of safe work practices, conduct BSP, preparedness for emergencies and upsets . Ownership and accountability
Qualifications/Requirements:
. Bachelor degree preferred--engineering . Demonstrated record of continued advancement with at least 5 years of diversified plant experience . Demonstrated managerial, leadership and interpersonal skills . A track record of success on Safety, Environmental, Quality and Employee Involvement . A strong commitment to employee involvement, team building and diversity . Ability to interface with senior customer representatives and community leaders . Experience in HyCO or ASU plant operation and maintenance or operations of equivalent complexity . Training/Certification in Sigma/Stable Ops is preferred. If not, it is an expectation to obtain this training.
