Site Lead Aircraft Maintenance Manager 3
• Oversees maintenance servicing, repairing and overhauling aircraft and
aircraft engines to ensure that aircraft are in good mechanical condition
and safe for flight
• Ensures FAA maintenance requirements are met. Schedules maintenance
and inspections
• Obtains quotations from outside repair facilities for equipment that cannot be repaired or maintained in-house.
• Releases aircraft for flight
• Recommends procedure changes to improve maintainability of aircraft
and timely inspections
• Consults manufacturers manuals for specifications and determines
feasibility of repair or replacement
• Requires FAA aircraft and engine mechanic license
Specific Description:
• Responsible for overall execution/management of deployed Aberdeen Integration Center (AIC) Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) program of
multiple jet aircraft
• Provide necessary scheduled & unscheduled aircraft maintenance to
support 7-day per week operation, 24 hours per day
• Interface directly AIC program manager on issues related to execution & management of downrange CLS operations
• Establish & sustain total, organizational, line-maintenance & flight
operations support for deployed aircraft including all electrical &
mechanical troubleshooting, fault isolation & repair, parts replacement, line repairable unit (LRU) replacement, calibration tasks, testing, engine repairs and/or replacements, sheet metal repairs, & proper documentation in aircraft
forms (Air Force Form 781 series)
• Ensure maintenance of aircraft complies with associated airworthiness approvals
• Manage OEM-approved aircraft maintenance plan Flight Test Vehicle Maintenance Plan & inspection schedule for aircraft
• Manage performance of Tier 2 maintenance (in-depth maintenance, repairs, etc.) & Tier 3 maintenance (modifications & depot level or major
maintenance) at operational OCONUS site(s)
• Develop & manage maintenance manning schedules based on available manpower
• Manage performance of progressive maintenance & inspections on
aircraft at remote OCONUS locations to minimize aircraft downtime for
longer term maintenance requirements
• Interface/coordinate directly deployed site team(s) on daily basis
ensuring on-time daily mission execution
• Update & maintain approved Ground Operating Procedures for Aircraft
• Manage development/maintenance of aircraft downtime schedule(s) for
multiple aircraft
• Manage aircraft & mission system spares & bench stock/consumables
onsite with established inventory control procedures & ordering procedures
• Establish maintenance operations in line with customer's ground
maintenance procedures
• Establish working relationship with customer to develop flight & aircraft maintenance schedules & achieve thorough post-flight aircrew debriefs
• Provide program manager required maintenance metrics
• Ensure use of established aircraft maintenance database system for
aircraft inspection & maintenance tracking
• Coordinate maintenance activities with aircraft OEM maintenance
facility as necessary
• Develop monthly aircraft maintenance & supply reviews to conduct
with prime contractor via teleconference & web conferencing services
Basic Qualifications: • Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license
• Current DoD SECRET Clearance
• Military/Commercial aircraft production superintendent expertise
• Military/Commericial aircraft maintenance experience to include
flight line maintenance and expediter expertise
• Experience in leading/managing large maintenance organization of 20 personnel
• 5 years Transport/Airlift category maintenance management experience
Preferred Qualifications: Jet aircraft maintenance/operations experience (highly desired)
• Deployed maintenance operations
